Dreaming of summer...

With the snowy, cold weather that seems to never end, I wanted to do a makeup look that reminded me of the warmer days ahead. This picture inspired me:

The orange, pink, and purple sky is so beautiful!! So, I did an eye makeup tutorial based on this.

Products used:
  • Coastal Scents 88 palette (the matte and satin one--not the shimmer)
  • L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Black
  • Ulta Single Eyeshadow in Silk
  • L'Oreal Le Kohl Eye Pencil in Onyx
Try it yourself, and let us know what you think!! I'll be doing a tutorial soon on the Coastal Scents Ultra Shimmer vs Matter/Satin 88 palettes. Stay tuned!

How to Fill in and Shape your Eyebrows

Sup Ladies!
I wanted to address the issue of eyebrows on this blog because it seems to be a problem that so many women have. I know that I am definitely self conscious about my lack of thick, dark and beautiful eyebrows and that there are so many women who are right there with me. Whether you overplucked, suffer from the effects of chemotherapy, or were just plain born without nice eyebrows (like me), you know you have searched far and wide for the solutions. If you're anything like me, I'm sure you've considered things like hair transplants and tattooing, which may seem extreme moves to some, but unless you know what it feels like, then you have no idea the extremes you'll go to to make yourself feel better. But for those of us just willing to deal with it, I made a tutorial video that shows the best way to fill your eyebrows in with a pencil. In this video I use a spooly brush and Maybelline Define-a-Brow eyebrow pencil in light brown. I hope it helps and remember: you are beautiful the way you are! This will just help ease your self-consciousness. I've included before and after pictures and a video.

Arabic Inspired Makeup using Coastal Scents 88 Palette!

Hello! Today I did a tutorial using my Coastal Scents Ultra Shimmer 88 palette. The colors in the palette motivated me to do my own version of an Arabic or Indian inspired look. Here is my Youtube tutorial:

And here are some pictures for you:

It was a super fun look! I love the 88 palette and plan on doing many more looks with it. I hope you enjoyed and let us know what you think!

Simple, Everyday, Smokey Eye Look

So today we posted a tutorial on a simple Smokey Eye Look:

The brands and colors used to achieve this look are:
Eyeliner: MakeUp Forever Aqua Eyes in Black
Eyeshadow: Sephora Eyeshadow in Black Flame #5
Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black (the one with the big brush!)

This look is very versatile. It is not as bold and intense as some smokey looks you see, so this look can be worn as an "every day" look for school, work, or going out! Very quick and very simple! You can check out the tutorial here:

alba aloe & green tea oil-free moisturizer

Hello ladies!
On my quest to find the perfect daily moisturizer for my skin type, I came across a wonderful product by Alba Botanicals. The aloe & green tea moisturizer is the ticket!
I absolutely love it! I recommend this product for anyone that has dry to combination skin. It has a very light and smooth consistancy but it feels heavier once it's on your skin. It's almost like you can feel it sink in and work it's magic. I like to swim and the chlorine tends to dry my face out, especially in the winter, so this moisturizer just goes on so smooth and feels so good afterwards. It must be the aloe working. It wears really well under makeup too and I can't help but love the long-term affects of anti-oxidants in the green tea. The only downside of this moisturizer is that it doesn't have any SPF in it, so I wind up putting sunscreen on top. But I almost don't care because I love it so much. That one little addition may just make it the perfect moisturizer though. I bought it for about $18 at Target but I also saw it at my local drugstore. I would definitely give this one a shot!

Lots of Love!

NYX Haul Swatches!

Ok, so as I promised on the YouTube video yesterday, I am posting the swatches for the NYX haul I did:

I am actually not crazy about these palettes. The single eyeshadow pots definitely give a better color payoff. The lipsticks are great though! Flower and Indian Pink are the only two frostly lipsticks here. But they are all vibrant colors that are very smooth on the lips. Try them out yourself and let us know what you think!  Here is the Youtube video:

I hope you enjoy!
